Workbenches

There are two workbenches for use. Each workbench should be equipped with the following:

Core tools

• Work mat
• Flush cutters
• Wire strippers
• Tweezers
• Needle-nose pliers
• Soldering iron with stand & tip cleaner (sponge or brass wool)
• Fume extractor
• Desoldering pump (solder sucker)
• Helping hands
• Safety glasses

Instruments

• Digital multimeter (Brymen BM235)
• Bench power supply (Keithley 2231A-30-3)
• Oscilloscope (Rigol DS1054Z and Tektronix MSO 2012B)
• Microscope (Nikon SMZ-U)
• Solder stations (Metcal MX-500P and Metcal MFR-PS1300)
• Hot air rework station (Aoyue 852)

Consumables

• Solder (spools)
• Flux (pen, paste, and/or liquid)
• Isopropyl alcohol (IPA)
• Disposable swabs
• Desoldering braid
• Hookup wire
• Kapton tape
• Electrical tape

Components and Materials

The lab also has a variety of electronics components and materials for use, including:

• Resistors
• Capacitors
• Jumper wires
• Heat shrink tubing
